Community rallies around family of 2-year-old killed in storm

The tree fell around 12:45 a.m. on the Ortiz family’s recreational vehicle in the Hill Crest Mobile Home & RV Park on Highway 80 in Haughton.The Ortiz family had moved to that spot in the trailer park about two weeks ago, neighbors Antonio and Marissa Cruz told The Times on Saturday.Many people who live in the park are affiliated with horse racing, they said. Our thoughts and prayers are with this family as they continue to deal with this tragedy,” Briery said. “The horse racing community is strong, caring and loving.
